Halki: Its secluded location has shaped it up to be one of the best destinations for relaxing holidays!

The capital town of Halki is Nimporio, where the island's port is also located. Nimporio is a quaint little village on the eastern side of Halki that boasts beautiful traditional architecture. The seafront village is lined up with cafeterias, restaurants, and shops, while it is the best place to enjoy long walks by the sea as well. There used to be another village in Halki, Chorio, which was abandoned in the 19th century when its inhabitants moved to Nimporio.
Today, there’s an old Medieval castle worth visiting on a hill above Chorio village.

The island's beaches are beautiful and have crystal clear waters, ideal for swimming! Most of the organized ones are located close to Nimporio and they are easily accessible on foot or by bus.
The beaches that are far from Nimporio are secluded and unorganized, perfect for those who seek peace and privacy!

Some of them are organized, but the rest are secluded, thus ideal for those who want to relax away from the hustle and the bustle! If on the other side you are an adventure lover, you’ll be happy to know that a hike around the island will bring you to many cute chapels and photogenic spots. Actually, on the southern part of the island, you’ll find the renowned Panormitis monastery, which is worth visiting.

Tilos: Thanks to its secluded location and small size, Tilos is considered a destination off the beaten tourist trail. It has emerged as a great destination for alternative holidays, as camping and nudism are quite popular on the island.

Tilos island has two main villages: Megalo Chorio and Livadia. Megalo Chorio, which is perched on the slopes of a mountain, is the island’s capital. Livadia is the main port and the most touristically developed village of Tilos, as it has many facilities. The most mysterious village in Tilos, though, sits in the center of the island and it’s Mikro Chorio, which is a ghost village that has been abandoned by its inhabitants in the 50s’.

As for Tilos beaches, they boast a beautiful natural setting and have a relaxing atmosphere. Standing out for their crystal clear waters and picturesque ambiance, they are perfect for those who want to unwind away from the noisy crowds. Except for Livadia, which is organized with umbrellas and sunbeds, the rest of the island’s beaches are not organized. Many of them are naturist beaches. Tilos beaches can be easily accessed on foot.

It doesn’t take much to get excited about visiting Kos. The island is famous as the birthplace of Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, for its incredible selection of beaches and great food.

The Asklepion is Kos’ most famous archaeological site, with a history that’s at the heart of the island’s identity and a significance that travels well beyond its shores. Built in the 3rd century BC, it was designed not just as a sanctuary dedicated to Asclepius (the god of healing) but also as a medical school to continue the work of Hippocrates, who lived and taught his progressive medical theories on Kos more than a century earlier. It’s also one of the island’s most serene locations, built over three levels, with sea views and topped by a forest whose soothing aura would have been part of the therapeutic experience.

And on to the food, for which Kos is rightly famed. Wherever you find yourself – along the waterfront of the main town, from Kardamaina to Kefalos on the south coast, or on the beaches to the north – you’ll find tavernas and restaurants overflowing with local delicacies. As a cosmopolitan island, Kos offers vivid nightlife!
